Make Your Own Patriotic Pinwheel Get into the patriotic spirit with this FUN project! Pinwheels are a perfect decoration for holidays like Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. |
Steps: |
Take a square piece of construction paper and fold it corner to corner so that it looks like a triangle. |
Fold the triangle in half again so that you end up with a smaller triangle. |
Unfold the paper so it looks like the original square. |
Decorate both sides of the paper using markers, stickers, or glitter. (You could also use two pieces of paper and decorate one side of each. Place the undecorated sides together.) |
Make a cut about halfway to the center point along each of the four folds. |
Bend every other corner down to the center point, being careful not to crease the paper. |
Place a pushpin through the center of the pinwheel and into the side of the pencil eraser. (Young children will require adult assistance with this step.) |
Bring your pinwheel outside and enjoy! |
